My daughter seems to have two loves these days, Disney Princesses and literally anything with sugar in it. Her birthday party theme naturally had to be 4ever Sweet. I had so much fun setting up this day for her and I am pretty sure she has not come down from the sugar high just yet.
The Decorations
Just as my daughter is obsessed with everything sugar and sweet, I am obsessed with party decorations. I could spend hours, days, weeks making party decorations. If I were to pick one thing I miss from pre-kid days, it was the endless time I could sit crafting uninterrupted. Now, I have kids, so I have more reasons to craft but so much less time. Life is funny.
- I ordered a balloon arch kit from amazon (these things are a little labor intensive but SO easy!)
- Made Giant Lollipops with paper plates, kids paint, cellophane, recycled ribbon, and stuck them on some PVC
- Paper Candies Stuck Everywhere! (Linked quick tutorial)

The Sweets
I warned all of the parents ahead of time….make sure your kiddos eat their veggies for lunch before you come over! We really leaned into the sweets theme and served a buffet of sweet treats. The party was at 2pm, so no official meal was expected. I still had a crockpot of pulled pork and rolls with a basket of chips for those who needed a little heavy afternoon snack. The adults went for the pork sandwiches and the kids definitely stuck to the sugar table…sorry parents! But I KNOW they had FUN!
I had a mixture of baked/ heavier treats with several bowls of candy. Little treat bags were perfect for the kids to serve themselves and then return to play. This also helped limit the dirty fingers in the candy bowl 😉

I did not capture photos of the whole table… but here is a list of what I served for the sweet treats:
- Chocolate Dipped/ Sprinkle Pretzel Rods
- Popcorn Balls with Sprinkles
- Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows with Sprinkles (Jumbo Vanilla and Strawberry Marshmallows)
- Jelly Beans
- Reeses Chocolates
- Gummy Bears
- Sour Heart Gummy Candy
- Cupcakes (disguised as Ice Cream)
- Birthday Cake
The Activities
Three and four year olds are relatively good at entertaining each other. It also helps that our backyard has benefitted from 2020 closure sanity purchases. We have a large swing set, a playhouse and a pretty fun cheap stomp rocket. The grandparents gifted her a double sided trampoline (everything seems to have to be for two kids to prevent fights over a single toy and this one is PERFECT). I only had a couple of “organized” activities which I spaced out over the party. The kids were posted up at the dessert table most of the time anyway.
- Bubbles (LOTS of different bubble wands, the trays and a giant bottle of bubble solution)
- Fake Tattoos (How cute are these? Turned out to be more of an activity for the moms ha!)
- Decorating Candy Houses (this is where the extra candy was used)

The Favors
I like to give favors that are with the theme. The last few parties I gave the kiddos books that aligned with the theme (parents loved this). Our party guest list is usually fairly small so I don’t mind doing something a little bigger. This year I gave the kids something I found nostalgic, ice cream cups. I filled each with…yes, more candy! (Again, sorry parents…but the cups are cute!)

The best part…
We had FUN!
I did not link any products, but if you are curious about where I got anything I’d be happy to share (hint: most was on Amazon!)
